The keys and the mechanism appears to be made of solid silver. There are no adjusting screws for the mechanism. There's also a sealed crack, located at the base of the headjoint - most likely caused by shrinkage of the wood. But the headjoint doesn't leak. The flute has the usual Briccialdi thumb key system, plus an extra small lever for operating the G key. The company is still in existence under the name Josef Müller and is currently operated by his son, Peter Müller. The flute has been refurbished with new pads and fresh cork. And here you can hear a wooden Seidel flute being played in comparison with a metal Louis Lot.

EDIT: Just to give you an idea of how this flute sounds and plays, I decided to also play a chromatic scale, plus a snippet from an easy Joachim Andersen Etude on the flute (from memory, I'm afraid). As you can probably hear, open G# system isn't really my thing. Which is also why I want to sell the flute.
